Performance Evaluation of Informatics Engineering Department Students of Matana University using Fuzzy Inference System

Abstract

The process of evaluation of students' performance results have been carried out using logic crips and fuzzy logic. This evaluation process is useful for determining whether students are included in the category of successful or failed. The success or failure of students in this study, is determined by the value obtained by the students' performance in mid term and final exam. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of Informatics Engineering Department students of Matana University. Research was conducted on 33 students of Informatics Engineering Department. There is any difference in results between the determination of fuzzy logic method with classical method. The evaluation with fuzzy logic method can provide added value to the currently enforced student performance evaluation method that great flexibility while classical method uses mathematical rules which are fixed and constant.
