Pengaruh Pra Pengetahuan Menggambar Teknik PaKAr Terhadap Kemampuan Hand-Drawing Mahasiswa

Abstract

Architectural education can not be separated by 'studio culture', where students are required to master basic drawing skills. 'Hand-drawing' became the first foothold as one of the media of the learning process to imagine, understand geometry and space, and communicate ideas. It is also an entry point for understanding and using electronic images, although the architectural companies demand digital products rather than hand products. On the other hand IAI and APTARI require hand-drawing as one of the main competencies of architect with 'capable' competence level. Due to poor student skills in terms of drawing basics, the Architecture Study Program, Matana University initiated a pre-university program called Pre-Lecture Architecture (PaKAr) whose material is about hand-drawing knowledge. The biggest challenge is that program participants with a background of high school students from Natural Science and Social Science backgrounds do not have enough basic hand-drawing skills to start architecture courses. The purpose of this research is to improve the hand-drawing ability of students of Architecture Study Program of Matana University. The target to be achieved is that the PaKAr program successfully improves the students 'Hand-Drawing' ability. This study uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, in which statistical data are described narratively to find the problem deeper and more massive conclusions.
